The last public update I provided was whenever I was released from Calvary University in Kansas City, Missouri. A lot has happened since then…

Dr. Christopher Cone is the President/CEO of AgathonEDU, a group dedicated to providing excellent education at an affordable price. From AgathonEDU’s website,

Such times of necessity mother many inventors and innovators, and these days are no exception. Many are recognizing that paradigms must change, and some are working very hard to help shape paths for better education. One such group commissioned for excellence in education is the AgathonEDU Educational Group, LLC. From the Greek agathon, meaning good, the AgathonEDU Educational Group is committed to provide leadership and support structure through a Shared Services Model for its educational partners and for other educators and institutions. (agathonedu.com)

Among the AgathonEDU partners, currently there are two institutions of higher education, Vyrsity and Colorado Biblical University (CBU). Both institutions are committed to reshaping the thinking found within the discipline of education. The Biblical theory of education is promoted for truly transformative learning and leadership. These institutions are surrounded by other businesses to help support their health and growth. These businesses differ in category such an online retail store (EDUthrift), a fractional marketing company (1024Marketing), and book publishing (Exegetica and Grace Acres Press).

Shortly after my departure from Calvary University, I was given the opportunity to serve with AgathonEDU partners in a full-time equivalence capacity. I currently serve as the Executive Vice President for 1024Marketing and EDUthrift as well as Chief Academic Officer for Vyrsity and Colorado Biblical University. It has been an incredible opportunity for personal growth and I’m looking forward to taking part in the reshaping of educational theory as we strive to promote the Biblical worldview in all we do.

Along with this opportunity to serve with AgathonEDU has come the opportunity for the acquisition of a new campus in Fort Dodge, IA which has now been named the Vyrsity Innovation Center. God-willing, this 66,000 square foot building will be the home of courses, events, and other Vyrsity related activities in the future. With this move has come difficulties, but overall, has been an incredible blessing from the Lord.

Along with all of this, we’ve recently announced the launch of the Journal on Transformative Learning and Leadership (JTLL) which “serves as a scholarly forum for the refinement and dissemination of research pertaining to interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary implications of transformative learning and its applications for leadership in diverse contexts.”

Apart from AgathonEDU and its partners, I’ve recently began a podcast, The Biblical Hermeneutics Podcast. That can be found at thebiblicalhermeneuticspodcast.com, johnoglesby.org, or wherever you listen to your podcasts.

With everything going on, Sierra has been given the opportunity to stay home with the girls and provide schooling, which has been an incredible blessing. The girls are doing fantastic in their learning. It’s a great joy to see their development as they soak in the education process.

We would, of course, love your prayers for continued growth, both personally and professionally, and God’s continued provision through this paradigm shift for our family.

Until next time…
